Dental implants have become an extremely popular solution for replacing missing teeth. More of our patients are choosing dental implants over traditional methods such as dentures or bridges. At Gomez Family Dentistry, Drs. Christopher and Gina Gomez find that most patients around Pensacola, Florida, love the use of implants for replacing teeth within their smiles. There are several specific reasons to choose dental implants, so let’s take a look at five reasons that resonate with our patients:
Five reasons why patients replace missing teeth with dental implants
They are a permanent solution. One of the primary reasons why our local patients choose dental implants is because they provide a permanent solution to missing teeth. Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, which often need to be replaced or adjusted by a dentist over time, dental implants are designed to last a lifetime with proper attention and routine care.
They look and feel natural. Quality dental implants are designed to mimic the look and feel of natural teeth. They are custom-made to match the exact size, shape, and natural color of your existing remaining teeth, making them practically indistinguishable from your natural smile.
They preserve bone health. When a natural adult tooth is missing, the underlying jawbone can begin to deteriorate because of the lack of stimulation. Dental implants are implanted right into the jawbone, providing the necessary stimulation and preventing bone loss.
They help maintain facial structure. Missing teeth typically cause changes in facial structure over time, such as sagging cheeks or a sunken jawline. Patients can maintain their facial structure and prevent premature aging by replacing the missing teeth with quality dental implants.
They require minimal maintenance. Unlike dentures or bridges that may need to be removed for cleaning or adjustment, dental implants can be cared for just like one’s natural teeth. This includes normal care such as brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups.
